The last few days,

The last few days I have been back at school after my Holiday. I have had a week at school and am now once more on another weeks holidays due to exams and so on at my school.

So what have I been up to in this extra week of Holidays so far? Well last Friday after school My host parents and I went to a Rotary function with my club. A musical comedy called the Bird handler (Vogelhändler). This was a wonderful fun filled production fell of traditional costumes and scenery. I had a bit of trouble understanding all of the words when the actors sang but there mannerisms and expressions helped me to be able to flow the story. In the break between the Acts of the play I met the parents of my next Host Family. They seem like lovely people and have 2 children A boy who is 16 and a girl who is 13. (it is very sad as they did have 3 children but a year eldest son died, he would have been 18 this year.). It was nice to meet my next family and i should be going to live with them on the 1st if July.

After my wonderful theater introduction on the Friday.

On Saturday I went with my Host family to visit eh open day of my Rotary Counselors wood factory. What they build in this factory ranges from playgrounds to full designed display frames and buildings form product shows (such as the display rooms for Nokia phones).

We also saw a demonstration of a man making wood carvings with a electric saw (this was amazing).

It was nice to see my counselor again and meet her whole family. I even got to see her sons new designs and proto types for furniture (these were awesome and I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a famous designer one day).

On Sunday it we went on a Bush walk around Interlakin (which means between two lakes). We walked for about 4 hours. The water in the lakes was so blue, it was almost a aqua colour, it looked so tropical except it actually was only 10degrees warm. It was so beautiful.

We walked for an hour and then took a boat ride across the lake to the other side.

We then walked and walked until we came to a wonderful waterfall next to a restaurant . This restaurant was also a beautiful old 4star hotel, and the views from this hotel of the waterfall was just amazing.

On our way back from the hotel we stopped to look out over the lake and I was very excited to see a person hand gliding down from the mountain.

After our long walk we had weary legs so went to the train station and caught the train back to the car.

On Monday I decided to make the most of my holiday so went off to Zurich for the day to do a spot of shopping. This was great fun as i had the whole day to just wander around taking as long as i want in shops. I personally love to go to a city with lots of people and visit all of the main attractions and sites together, i then like to back to the city and just slowly go around shops and see things that we missed out on last time. So I had a great day in Zurich.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was a nice at home relaxing day. I wrote emails, had a chat with my sisters and friends on Msn, it was great to talk to everyone. Msn is not as good as the phone but it is almost a close second best. It is just so amazing that I am so far away form my family but can keep in contact with everyone so easily. Gone are the days when I would have to wait 4 weeks for a letter. Now i can open up my emails and have a recent updated letter siting there for me to read. It is great.
