Geneva: Girls just want to have fun
Yesterday I had a girls day out in Geneva with kay lea (from Australia) and Justine (from Canada) ...and it was awesome fun.
We caught the train at 8:00 and talked about everything from what we did in the holidays to hand clapping games we played when we were little.
We arrived in Geneva and went to find the main shopping street. So we followed the flow of people and walked until we found the huge fountain that spurts water up into the air.
After taking photos of us with this fountain we continued on our way.
we walked around the lake looking for the main street. After getting a little lost we tried asking an Ice cream lady if she knew where the main street was........after trying to ask in German, and English and only getting a reply in French(as French is the spoken language in Geneva) we gave up and decided we better go find another way to get directions to the main street.
It was actually really strange not being able to be understood again, it reminded me of my first few weeks in Switzerland, which now seems such a long time ago, and how it took me so long to have people understand me
So we kept walking and then we saw a bank...we decided that the people in the bank will probably speak German or English. So we went into the bank.... and it was a our lucky day as the bank lady spoke perfect English......so we got directions to the main shopping street in Geneva.
We went in to HM (a big girl’s clothes store) and tried on sun glasses. Being tourists we decided it would be fun to take photos of us in our glasses. So we got out the cameras and in the middle of the shop stated snapping away
We then found the best shop I have seen in Switzerland .........a shop of really nice (but cheap) clothes.
we had the best time in this shop...we dressed up in all the clothes we liked, or thought were fun. Kay Lea (the Australian) and I tried on the same outfit...this was so much fun as we took photos of this event.
We laughed so loud that I think the other people in the change room were slightly confused as to what was going on.
After purchasing some clothes we left the store and went looking for lunch
Lunch was bought and eaten, a Swiss diet of bread cheese, meat salad and then a special treat... Pringles
After some more shopping we were ready to go back to the train station....if only we could find it....
So we walked to where we thought we had come from, but just made ourselves completely lost
With no banks insight I went and asked a lady on the street for directions. She was very helpful and gave us directions to the nearest tram stop that would take us to the train station.
We found the tram stop hopped on the tram and arrived at the train station.
We worked out what train to take and boarded the train to go home
But just because one is on a train doesn't mean the fun stops....well it doesn't for exchange students anyway.
We found amusement from putting some Pringles left over from lunch in our mouths and looking like ducks
We had sexy ducks
crazy ducks
and tourist ducks
After laughing so hard with Pringles in our mouths, time seemed to have passed so fast as we had arrived at our stop. Justine left to get to trampolining, so Kay Lea and I caught another train home together.
