Spanish,Sira and me
I have now officially preformed in Switzerland. I was in my school choir concert.
We have been learning songs and getting ready to go on our school choir trip in September.
So last night we did a performance to the school and parents in Spanish.
This sounds relatively easy...and would have been if i had know all of the words to the songs.
The fact that my choir are all extremely talented in music means we do a song once and most of them have learnt it. Where it takes me about 5 goes to get it, as i have not yet mastered the art or reading music. Also i joined the choir halfway through their song learning process so had never heard some of the songs we were singing in my life.
So myself and one of the girls in my class called Siria went on stage with little knowledge of what we where meant to be doing or singing. This was a cause for much amusement and fun.
The trouble with Spanish is that i Will read a word and say 'duma' the rest of the talented singers will say 'demora'....I will say 'aray' the rest will say 'eraye' .......and so on
We had a 2 hour rehearsal before our concert and Sira and I had a lot of fun moving our mouths with out words in the songs we didn't know.
It was a lot of fun and i had a great time. I think choir is more interesting when you have no idea of what you are doing...it makes things more lively and spontaneous.
The performance ended up being great . the choir sang so beautifully and the audience seemed to enjoy themselves. Sira and I did a good job at miming and all was great.
I even manged to sing 2 songs in Spanish and get most of the words right ( I was proud of myself).
I had a fun evening ..who knew choir could ever be so fun.

I think the time has now come, Angela, for you to give us an audio blog so we can hear your attempt at Spanish!!! Well done!!! If you can manage some Spanish, who knows what you will do with yodelling!!!!!!
